Abstract: This Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is an evaluation of the potential environmental and socio-economic impacts of the proposed water and sewer network at Gulhifalhu, Maldives proposed by Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) Pvt Ltd. This document is submitted by the proponent to Ministry of Housing and Environment (MHE) to fulfil the requirements for an EIA under Article 5 of the Environment Protection and Preservation Act (4/93). The construction of the water and sewer network is expected to begin as soon as the EIA is approved and will be completed within 12 months. The objective of the proposed project is to construct and operate a water and sewer network at the reclaimed land of Gulhifalhu to provide water supply and sanitation services for the upcoming warehouses and hostels.
