Abstract
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Maldives is responsible for regulating ambulance service providers, practitioners, and vehicles operating within the country, including ground, sea, and air ambulance services. This National Standard for Ambulance Services outlines minimum requirements for providing ambulance services, aiming to establish specific requirements for different types of ambulance vehicles. It also specifies the technical competencies required for ambulance staff. All emergency medical vehicles, including ground, sea, and air ambulances, emergency first responders, and sprint vehicles, must fulfill the requirements of this standard to be licensed by the Ministry of Health.
