dc.description.abstractThis report details the findings of the Maldivians Traveling Abroad (MTA) Survey 2016 conducted by the Statistics Division of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA). The main objective of the survey is to estimate the travel expenditure, which is one of the components of the current account of the Balance of Payments statistics. The MTA survey is an important tool used to identify and analyse the travel patterns of Maldivians by purpose of travel, frequently visited destinations, and expenditure patterns.
