Abstract

Given the remote location of the Maldives, the limited amount of waste, and the constraint set by the geographical context, the Government of the Maldives and key stakeholders are undertaking a market sounding to evaluate interest in the design, build, and operation of a Waste to Energy (WtE) plant, and associated infrastructure in the Greater Malé Area. This document has been prepared to provide prospective bidders with background information about the forthcoming opportunity.
