Abstract: This Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) or the study report has been prepared in order to meet the requirements of Clause 5 of the Environmental Protection and Preservation Act of the Maldives to assess the environmental impacts of proposed installation of PET (Poly Ethylene Terepthalate) Injection Moulding Machine to produce PET pre-form tubes using PET resin and improvement of existing lagoon in-take well, at International Beverage Company Pvt. Ltd. located in Himmafushi, Male’ Atoll. This IEE report will look at the extent of the proposed project through screening of the potential environmental impacts and will identify all possible mitigation measures for the likely impacts. The report will also look at the justifications for undertaking the proposed project components. The project will also look at the monitoring plans during and post development of the proposed project activities and recommendation for the operation.
