dc.descriptionSince the late nineties energy drinks became more popular. Although, energy drink was introduced to the athletes it was popular among all especially to the youth population. There were lots of dangers due to consumption of energy drinks like, cardiac arrest, headache and migraine, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetics and increased anxiety. According to WHO, 2014 some deaths have connected to intake of energy drinks (WHO, 2014). A descriptive cross sectional study was conducted to identify knowledge, attitude and practices of energy drinks among the youth of Male‘ city between the ages of 15 to 34 years. And the convenient sampling method was used as sampling techniques. Result: With 100 percent response, majority of the participants have knowledge on energy drinks. Most of the participants knew that energy drinks have high level of sugar. Nearly half of the participants knew the ingredients used in energy drinks. Among all the participants 93.3% of participants believe that energy drinks are harmful for their health. And 22 % of the participants had already stopped using energy drinks while others are thinking to quit, few participants told they will continue using and 36% were not decided whether they will continue or stop it. Conclusion: Majority have high positive knowledge and thinking on energy drinks. Even though, there were bad practices among the participants. Therefore, in the light of results it‘s important to make some rules and regulations for marketing energy drinks.en_US
