Library and information science education and training opportunities in Bangladesh and Maldives : a comparison

Abstract

Description

The purpose of this paper is to contextualize the library and information science (LIS) education development and trends in parts of the Asian subcontinent, specifically Bangladesh and the Maldives; with a view to identify the opportunities and challenges ahead in this endeavour. It will specifically look at the short term in-service LIS education provision as well as professional accredited long-term programs offered in both countries.
